Reaching out to those who need Jesus and ministering to those who have found Jesus already is the purpose of Gulf Area Resort Ministry!
Many different sites and events are targeted by our missionaries and volunteer teams that join us throughout the year. Beaches, Condos, RV parks, and local trailer parks are places you will find teams of Barefoot Believers serving using different methods to be a light and share the Gospel of Jesus! Barefoot Believers has been the nickname used for many years to describe those in connection with GARM.
We work with teams of all ages and connect them with various different opportunities to use their gifts and abilities to share throughout the resort community.
Teams serving with us in the past have found themselves:
On the beaches: leading worship, passing out bottled water, playing games with all ages, making hair ties, face painting, praying… In RV Parks: leading day camps, leading evening programs, washing rv’s, prayer walking, leading worship services, passing out flyers, providing various meals at different times like Thanksgiving & Christmas… In trailer parks: leading day camps, block parties, passing out flyers, prayer walking… In local churches: assisting with vacation bible schools, passing out flyers, painting… In nursing homes: singing Christmas Carols…
There is much to do yearround! It is exciting working with teams who come during Spring Break, Summer, & Shrimp Fest in October. There is opportunity year round and the types of ministry opportunities of course vary. For example, we don’t do a lot on the beaches between November and February, but the RV parks are full of Snowbirds during those times! It’s an exciting ministry and it would be great to work with your team if you are looking for an opportunity to serve.
