Welcome to Barefoot Believers Online!

The 2010 spring season is flying by and we’ve had several weeks now of exciting ministry taking place throughout the resort community of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach!
Since March 1 we’ve worked with 7 different spring break teams. A Kansas Christian High School brought its seniors down to work with us and they helped us to label hundreds of bottles of water with scripture verses and also assisted one of our local churches (on a bad weather day) by installing insulation in a newly constructed building. The water the Kansas team labeled has already been distributed with the help of several other teams including a team from Arkansas State BCM who helped us by reaching out on the beaches and hosting a volleyball tournament on the Gulf Shores Public Beach! Over 60 vacationers participated in this event and hundreds of contacts were made through their canvassing efforts on the beaches and in the rv parks! FBC Blytheville, from Arkansas, along with a family from Arkansas also participated with the efforts around the volleyball tournament making it a great success where seeds were planted! FBC Somerset, Kentucky joined us for several days of ministry which included Beach Reach and assisting at a local thrift store! Central Christian, a local Christian School in Robertsdale joined us with their seniors for two days of Beach Reach! All these teams came prior to our local week of spring break which was last week, April 12-16! Our local week of Spring Break was an intense week! We had 7 local teenagers from 3 different churches come together as a great team to lead the missions efforts! We were involved on the beach for 3 days using water, face painting, and salvation bracelets to connect with people and share the gospel of Jesus Christ! We also held 4 concerts in the evenings, 3 of which took place at the Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion! Mclendon, Seeking Shelter, Bloodwasht, and a local group from Gulf Shores led the concerts and shared the Gospel! What an exciting venue it was as hundreds of people were encountered each day during the 20+ hours we had a presence there. We also used an inflatable, snocones, facepainting, and salvation braclets to make contact and share with people.
Several of our local churches joined in on the local Spring Break Efforts! Thanks brothers and sisters!
Some of the most exciting encounters I personally experienced during this years spring break efforts included meeting and talking with a Jewish family from New Orleans, a Catholic Gentlemen from Cincinnatti, a sweet family from Iraq who was grillin chicken at the beach pavilion, and a lady with her daughter from Sweden who we were able to share the Salvation Bracelets with and visit with during Beach Reach!
Literally, thousands of seeds were planted as God brought encouragement and surely salvation to some! He is a good God and that is something He does!
